Special features of conformity assessment and CE labelling for toys and consumer products
Consumer products and toys are used by end consumers in their daily lives:
- Conformity assessment and CE labelling must therefore take particular account of the diversity of the user group. End users differ in many respects, such as previous knowledge and age.
- As a consequence, the product analysis, the definition of the application scenarios and the assessment of possible misuse with special care happen and are reflected in restrictions on action.
- The Toy Safety Directive (2009/48/EC) once again defines particularly stringent requirements for these products, especially with regard to the use of non-hazardous, pollutant-free materials.
- easyCE also observes that consumer products and toys are often placed on the market by importers and not by the manufacturers themselves. Importers must then prove full compliance to marketplaces such as Amazon (Amazon FBA) or the customs authorities in order to avoid the risk of sales being stopped.
- The conformity assessment procedure must then include any existing, dubious test reports from the manufacturer are validated and verified by the importer. The importer is ultimately liable for the product.

easyCE supports the conformity assessment procedure and the creation of a user manual for a smart drinking bottle for storing and drinking liquid food. In addition, the drinking bottle communicates as a mobile device with the matching water dispenser.
CE marking for illuminated sign for outdoor use.
easyCE supports the entire conformity assessment procedure incl. risk assessment for an illuminated sign which is used as an illuminated sign in the lettering in garages and other places where information is displayed with an illuminated sign.

CE labelling for intelligent water dispensers
easyCE supports the entire conformity assessment procedure including operating instructions for an intelligent water dispenser for use in private and public spaces. The wide range of functions of the appliance, including cooling and boiling tap water, filtering, purifying and bubbling, had to be taken into particular consideration during the conformity assessment procedure.

Is CE marking required for jewellery e.g. silver necklaces, earrings etc.?
If a jewellery stand does not contain any electronic components, as is often the case with watches, for example, and is not a toy, then no CE mark can or may be affixed
Which substances must not be present in toys or exceed limit values?
The Toy Safety Directive stipulates various substances that must not be present in toys or only up to certain limit values.
Is CE labelling required for furniture (not children's furniture)?
No, CE labelling is not required for normal furniture that is not intended for use by children.
