This is what you need to take into account when CE marking your product
You ensure that your products are designed and manufactured in accordance with the applicable regulations. To do this, you prepare the necessary technical documentation and carry out the conformity assessment procedure. After successful testing, you issue the EC declaration of conformity and affix the CE marking. We at easyCE are your partner to help you meet all legal requirements efficiently and reliably.
You also keep all relevant documents for ten years and ensure the conformity of your production through continuous testing. Your toys always have an identification number and your contact information. You ensure that all toys contain instructions for use and safety information in understandable language. If non-conformities are identified, you immediately take corrective measures and inform the relevant authorities.
Before placing a toy on the market, make sure that the manufacturer has carried out the conformity assessment procedure and that the required technical documentation and conformity marking are available. You ensure that your name and contact information are included on the toy or packaging and that instructions for use and safety information are included in understandable language. Trust easyCE to bring toys to the European market safely and compliantly.
During storage and transport, you ensure that toys remain compliant. If non-conformities are identified, you take prompt corrective action and inform the competent authorities. If necessary, you carry out random checks and a complaint register to ensure consumer safety. An importer is considered a manufacturer and is subject to the corresponding obligations when he places a toy on the market under his own name or trademark or when he modifies a toy already on the market in such a way that compliance with the applicable requirements may be affected. At easyCE, we support you in fulfilling all your obligations as a manufacturer should you take on this role.
The experts at easyCE are available to answer any questions you may have about conformity. Do you have any doubts about the CE conformity of a machine you have purchased or are about to purchase? easyCE will be happy to check the CE documentation for you.
Before you place a toy on the market, check that it bears the required conformity marking and is accompanied by the necessary documentation, instructions for use and safety information in understandable language. You ensure that the manufacturer and the importer have met their respective requirements. We at easyCE are at your side as a competent partner to fulfill your obligations efficiently and reliably.
If you have any doubts about the conformity of a toy, do not place it on the market until all requirements are met. In case of any hazard, inform the manufacturer, the importer and the market surveillance authorities immediately. During storage and transport, ensure that the conformity of the toy is not compromised. If non-conformities are identified, take the necessary corrective measures and notify the competent authorities. A distributor is considered a manufacturer and subject to the corresponding obligations when he places a toy on the market under his own name or trademark or modifies a toy already on the market in such a way that compliance with the applicable requirements may be compromised. At easyCE, we support you in fulfilling all your obligations as a manufacturer if you take on this role.
The experts at easyCE will be happy to help you prepare or review the conformity assessment documents, which include product analysis, risk assessment, type plate and the final declaration of conformity. We will also check your operating instructions and their contents for conformity.

Frequently asked questions
Is CE marking required for jewelry, e.g. silver necklaces, earrings, etc.?
If a piece of jewelry does not contain any electronic components, as is often the case with watches, and is not a toy, then it cannot and must not bear a CE mark. We will be happy to test your product and provide you with the certainty.
Which substances are not allowed in toys or must not exceed limit values?
The Toy Directive specifies various substances that may not be present in toys or may only be present up to certain limit values.
As a manufacturer, you should check the declaration of performance of the materials you use in production and ensure that they meet the requirements of the directive. One of these substances is formaldehyde. From 2020, stricter limits for formaldehyde in toys will apply (however, materials manufactured before this date will be protected). The limit for formaldehyde in wood products used in toys that are used by children under 36 months or are intended to be put in the mouth is 0.1 ml/m3 (test method: EN 717-1:2004).
Is CE marking required for furniture (not children's furniture)?
No, CE marking is not required for normal furniture that is not intended for use by children. If it is children's furniture, it must be assessed according to the Toy Safety Directive and is subject to CE marking.
