Manufacturers of vehicle bodies are always responsible for the creation and verification of CE labelling.
We advise manufacturers to familiarise themselves with the applicable regulations in advance. Consider the framework conditions and relevant requirements from directives and relevant requirements from directives and standards. In particular, you should observe the requirements from Annex I of the Machinery Directive during the product development process. By using harmonised standards, you can avoid additional work and additional adaptation for proof of conformity. Pay attention to noise measurements, for example, proof of stability and the operating licence for road traffic. Also bear in mind that, depending on the country, there may be special requirements with regard to the operating licence. In our experience, these issues often pose a particular challenge. Ensure lean and efficient proof of conformity by only installing CE-marked components. Remember that correct operating instructions in the respective national language are a central component of product conformity.Operators always have the CE verification obligation and in some cases also the responsibility for preparing the CE labelling.
Operators may only use CE-marked vehicle bodies labelled vehicle bodies as they must ensure that their employees work on compliant and safe vehicle bodies. In many cases, an operating licence for road traffic must also be available. This also applies to used and old vehicle bodies. We therefore advise operators to only buy CE-marked vehicle bodies or to carry out the CE marking at the time of purchase. Operators are themselves responsible for CE labelling if they combine individual elements or vehicle bodies in such a way that the original body has been significantly modified. Operators are also responsible for CE labelling if they manufacture or modify vehicle bodies for their own use.Importers are at least responsible for providing proof of CE labelling.
If you export vehicle bodies to a country in the European Economic Area and the machine is only transferred to your customer after import, the responsibility for CE labelling lies with you. We advise exporters to be prepared to prove product conformity with all applicable regulations to customs and other market surveillance authorities. For competitive reasons, we also always advise exporters to take responsibility for CE labelling of exported vehicle bodies. If you are exporting a machine to the United Kingdom, we will also be happy to help you achieve UKCA conformity.Importers are at least responsible for providing proof of CE labelling.
If you import vehicle bodies from a third country into a country of the European Economic Area you must prove that the vehicle bodies bear a CE mark and conform to all applicable directives and standards. You must be able to prove this to customs and other supervisory authorities, otherwise the import may be stopped at your expense. You should therefore have received all necessary documentation on all product components and proof of correct conformity assessment from the manufacturer prior to import. Depending on the contractual agreement, the importer may also be responsible for preparing the CE labelling. Bear in mind that correct operating instructions in the respective national language are also part of product conformity.Als Hersteller sind Sie in vielfältiger Art und Weise vom Thema CE betroffen.

easyCE supports the entire conformity assessment process, including risk assessment, up to the ready-to-sign Declaration of Conformity for a horizontally operated transport silo for bulk materials of all kinds. Special considerations were necessary for user safety during the unloading process of the silo installed on the transport vehicle.
Considering: 2006/42/EG, 97/23/EG, 94/9/EG
easyCE supports the entire conformity assessment process, including risk assessment and RoHS considerations, up to the ready-to-sign Declaration of Conformity for driving robots. Due to specific reliability requirements, special considerations were necessary during assembly.
Considering: 2006/42/EG, 2014/30/EU, EN 349: 2008-09, EN 1037: 2008-11, EN ISO 12100: 2011-08, EN ISO 13849-1/2
easyCE supports the entire conformity assessment process, including risk assessment, up to the ready-to-sign Declaration of Conformity for tractor attachments. The high mobility of the product at and above head height necessitated particularly high requirements for user safety. easyCE considered the on-site data collection for life phases such as 'assembly,' 'operation,' and 'maintenance' on comparable machines in operation. Overall, a high potential for danger was to be considered due to highly mobile, heavy, and unwieldy components.
Considering: 2006/42/EG, 2014/30/EU, 2014/68/EU, DIN EN 12525, EN ISO 14982, DIN EN 16590-2
The CE marking for the mobile conveyor, a device for the efficient transport of bulk material, presented an exciting challenge that we at easyCE mastered with competence and care. The device's ability to transport materials up to a height of 10 meters despite its small footprint required a particularly careful risk assessment and the development of adequate safety measures, especially with regard to the stability of the device. We worked closely with the manufacturer to identify all potential hazards associated with operating the conveyor. In particular, our focus was on height adjustment and the movement of the device on uneven terrain. Thanks to our extensive experience and technical know-how, we were able to ensure that all requirements of the various directives were met, and give the manufacturer assurance that his product meets the high safety standards of the EU.
Considering: EN 12100, EN 4413, EN 618
The CE marking for the trailer pump, a mobile device for the transport of concrete, posed a particular challenge. Since this product was already being distributed in EU foreign countries, the main focus was on checking and transitioning the demanding EU safety regulations that apply to machines of all kinds. The conformity assessment required a comprehensive risk assessment to identify potential hazards, determine appropriate safety measures, and check their implementation. The challenge was to ensure compliance with a multitude of standards and regulations that ranged from the general machinery directive to specific C-standards for the product. With the support of easyCE, the company was able to meet all requirements to obtain a successful CE marking. Our team worked closely with the customer to ensure that the trailer pump meets the high safety standards of the EU without impairing the efficiency and performance of the product.
Considering: EN ISO 12100, EN 12001, EN ISO 4413
easyCE observes that vehicle bodyworks and vehicle testing equipment frequently fall within the scope of the following directives and regulations:
Vehicle bodyworks commonly utilize the vehicle engine as their propulsion system. According to the Machinery Directive, machines utilizing a propulsion system external to the machine also fall within its scope. As a manufacturer, you often have the freedom to decide whether to classify your machine as a complete or incomplete machine. However, conformity assessment and CE marking are necessary in both cases.
easyCE will consider your product in 2 parts: the vehicle body and the carrier vehicle. easyCE will be happy to help you identify the harmonised standards that apply to the vehicle body. Our experts will also be happy to help you with the subsequent steps of product analysis and risk assessment. In addition to these CE-relevant requirements of the conformity assessment procedure, specifications for the general type approval and the road traffic licensing regulations of the carrier vehicle must also be met.
